DIY Storage

I love a little project, transforming something pretty ordinary into something that’s down right fabulous  is just so satisfying. That’s what the clever folks over at Ikea have done with their simple and practical PRÄNT boxes. A lick of paint and a few bulldog clips {every stylist’s favourite fastener!} and you have a funky storage system whose irregular form hits season’s leading storage trend…

Mid-Century Colours

So we all know I love a bit of colour and retro design. Mix it together and what do you get?… Fired Earth’s Mid-Century Colours by Kevin McCloud. I love these shades and the photography and styling is gorgeous too. Lovely and cheery for another not so spring like day {where did the sunshine go?}

New Online Magazine {est}

A little bit of online eye candy for you this Wednesday afternoon my friends. I’m sure it will already be doing the blogging rounds but there’s a new e-mag doing the rounds and it could well be my favourite to date. Est is the creation of two talented Aussies, Sian MacPherson and Lynda Evans, it’s a visual treat of Global living with an Australian twist, here are my favourite bits, {love the styling on the Nomad feature and gorgeous Scandi style home }

The whole issue is online now for your viewing pleasure and I  highly recommend you take a peep.

Danish Design {Manostiles}

Let’s talk about Denmark for a moment. {Don’t worry this is not a geography lesson first thing on a Tuesday morning!} For a relatively small country there are so many great exports; Hans Christian Andersen; Bacon; Peter Schmeichel {my brother and any Man Utd fans will appreciate that ref!} and a large sweeping generalisation here but Danish Design. I’m a huge fan of Danish Design and so was really excited when Rachel from Danish Design brand Manostiles contacted me last week to introduce me to their latest range of dining ware. Love the designs and love the colours so perfect for spring. The home range can be bought from Cahetu and will be available  on Manostiles website from April…

Love those storage cansiters.

I think it’s about time that I tak a trip to Scandinavia, not quite sure which city to visit but next year we’ve decided it’s top of our holiday list to go in search of some design inspiration. If you have any suggestions on where and when to go please don’t be shy send your suggestions my way.

A week of work and walks…

Last week flew by in a bit of whirl. I worked on two different advertising shoots, one for the lovely folk at Furniture Village {with fave photographer Dan Duchars} and at the end of the week I got to style part of  the Marks & Spencer Autumn/ winter range  for their press look book {seriously gorgeous pieces coming through next season, I can’t wait to share them with you in a few weeks} I worked alongside London / New York based photographer Paul Raeside, whose work is really striking. Despite many hours spent in location houses creating Wintry looks it didn’t manage to escape my noticing that Spring is most defiantly on its way. I managed to squeeze in a fair few walks this week, scavenging for the perfect log {for my M&S shoot} at the start of the week and simply taking time to enjoy the sunshine this weekend. Little Dudley is certainly a fan of the sunshine. I have to say it’s about time too, I was just starting to get the “Leaving Sydney Blues! ” Please stay around spring…

Real Living Floor Tiles Mood boards

A little later than promised {no surprises there!} here are the mood boards and sketches that I popped together  for the Real Living Floor Tiles feature I posted about here

It’s seems like ages since I last posted one of my mood boards. This week I’ve heaps to share. I’ve several features in the latest issue of Cath Kidston magazine and a feature in the May issue of Country Homes & Interiors too so plenty more mood boards to come!
